Courtney Hope – Falling or Flying? Last year we had the chance to shoot with the beautiful and talented actress Courtney Hope for CW-X Compression Gear. Courtney has starred in several films and has been a regular on daytime hits such as The Young and the Restless & The Bold and the Beautiful. What we didn’t know was what an amazing athlete she was with a background in competitive dance and as a fitness instructor in Los Angeles, CA.
The photoshoot was at the stunningly beautiful Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater in Morrison, CO. As a fitness photographer, my team and I photograph world class athletes all of the time. This shoot surprised me however, in that there was really very little direction that I could give her. She had moves and grace and shapes that I’ve never seen before. To be honest, the entire shoot was me saying “try something else” and then frantically trying to keep up and squeeze the shutter at the peak moment. Throughout the day, Courtney literally appeared to defy gravity with leaps and jumps that seemed to hang in the air longer than physics should allow. It genuinely was impossible to tell if she was falling or flying.
